“China is ready to deepen cooperation with Belarus and to jointly address global governance issues like unilateralism (support for unilateral actions) and protectionism in trade, and to defend the multilateral trading system,” Cui Qiming said

China’s Geely Corporation is eyeing the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone as a potential site for manufacturing automobile parts. A relevant agreement between the Great Stone Industrial Park and Geely is under preparation and will be signed at the international forum on regional cooperation and development within the framework of the Belt and Road initiative, due on July 1-3, 2019

The main theme is “Open park Great Stone - an example of global opportunities”. The event will bring together about 500 participants: government representatives, leaders of business associations, investment funds, banks and major companies from European and Asian countries

Previously, education certificates issued in China could only be used in Belarus after an official recognition procedure, which could last 2-3 months. With the new agreement in place, it will be less time-consuming to recruit Chinese specialists

Belkovets was reported to have meetings at the China Development Bank and the Export-Import Bank of China in May.  In his words, during those meetings Belarus and China discussed the terms of borrowing and other relevant arrangements

According to Hu Zheng, the Great Stone should keep to sustainable development which presupposes balance between scale, quality, and efficiency. “Increasing the scale will lead to blind, excessive investment, unreasonable activities and will upset the balance between supply and demand,” Hu Zheng said

“We have signed a framework agreement with the China Development Bank. Now we are trying to facilitate credit and investment cooperation, which includes a larger-scale form of credit cooperation in the form of non-tied credits of the China Development Bank,” BelTA reports citing Yermolovich as saying.

Since Jan 2019, the BPC and CNAMPGC have been testing deliveries in containers. The development of potash shipments in containers to China represents a promising avenue of business since it creates a higher level of service, the BPC said

“Today we are discussing the issuance of China Union Pay cards, and we will explore the possibility of doing a co-badging project with the participation of Belkart and China Union Pay. We will look into the possibility of an inter-system integration of two payment systems”, Kozhekina said
