MINSK – The Belarusian state enterprise Belintertrans — Transport-Logistics Center (BTLC, controlled by Belarus Railway Company) and China’s Suzhou Newcity Investment and Development Co., Ltd. have signed a memorandum of understanding in order to develop freight logistics between Belarus and China.
Developing new freight logistics schemes is in tune with the ‘One Belt – One Road’ initiative of the Chinese government, which contributes to economic cooperation and trade links between Belarus and China.
Just 10 years ago, regular direct freight services from China to Europe did not exist. Today, they connect 43 Chinese cities with 41 European cities in 13 countries of Europe. In 2017, 3,673 container trains on the China-Europe route delivered to their destinations $16 billion worth of cargoes.
