Plans to bring ‘anchor' brands into China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone

MINSK – Belarus and China have reached an agreement on attracting “anchor” brands into the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone, representatives of the Belarusian Economy Ministry told BelTA after a Belarusian delegation visited China.
Belarusian Economy Minister Dmitry Krutoi took part in the third session of the Belarusian-Chinese intergovernmental committee on cooperation in Beijing. He also chaired the 11th session of the working group on the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone. The sides summed up what has been done so far and sketched out tasks for the near future. In particular, the sides agreed to expand bilateral trade, implement the plan on coupling the economies of Belarus and China, step up mutual investments, and bolster interregional ties. Apart from that, the sides will put together a plan on the long-term development of the industrial park Great Stone. The sides also set out to bring “anchor” brands into the industrial park.
Participants of the session of the working group on the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone decided to arrange an international forum in the park in 2019.
While in China the Belarusian delegation took part in a Belarusian-Chinese business forum, which main panel sessions focused on Belarus' export and innovation potential, the country's investment climate, and the appeal of tourism, education, and medical services of Belarus. Belarusian Deputy Economy Minister Dmitry Matusevich presented the country's economic and investment potential.
Top Belarusian Economy Ministry officials also attended the opening ceremony of the China International Import Expo in Shanghai, the Hongqiao International Economic and Trade Forum, and a forum of strategic dialogue between China Merchants Group and Duisburger Hafen AG. Top Belarusian Economy Ministry officials also took part in meetings with the leadership of several provinces of China.
