China's Chongqing seeks to supply tea to Belarus

MINSK - Companies of the Chinese Chongqing would like to supply tea to Belarus, Yu Xie, vice chairperson of the agriculture committee of the city of Chongqing, said when speaking at the tea presentation in the Friendship House in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
Yu Xie noted that Chongqing, which has twinning ties with Minsk Oblast, is known for tea production. Tea is supplied to many countries around the world. There are intentions to start deliveries to Belarus. “Belarus is an important partner of China in the Belt and Road initiative. Therefore, it is very important to promote contacts across all economic fronts, including tea industry,” she said.
Yu Xie spoke about the major manufacturers of tea products in Chongqing. There are more than 100 such companies, some of which have provided their products for the presentation at the House of Friendship.
Nina Ivanova, the head of the Belarusian society of friendship and cultural relations with foreign countries, thanked the Chongqing delegation for the opportunity to get familiar with the region and its tea manufacturers.
