Belarus’ parliament ratifies cargo transportation agreement with China

MINSK - The Chamber of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus (the lower chamber of Belarus’ parliament) has ratified the agreement on developing international cargo transportation, which includes cooperation in implementing the Silk Road’s Economic Belt concept.

The agreement is supposed to promote cooperation in cargo forwarding and logistics, and also make the Europe-Asia transport corridor more competitive.

The document says Belarus and China will reward cargo forwarders for enhancing the efficiency of transit shipments, and also contribute to facilitating multimodal shipments to third countries.

Besides, they plan to simplify customs procedures in order to make cargo transit via Belarus more competitive.

China and Belarus signed the agreement on developing international cargo transportation, which includes cooperation in implementing the Silk Road’s Economic Belt concept on May 16, 2017 in Beijing.
