Logistics subpark in China-Belarus Industrial Park to go online in 2017

MINSK (BelTA) – The first trade and logistics subpark in the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone will be commissioned in 2017, China Merchants Group Director, General Representative of the China Merchants Group in Central Asia and the Baltic states Hu Zheng told reporters at the subpark groundbreaking ceremony on 11 December, BelTA informs.
Our project is the first to be implemented in the Great Stone park and is the biggest project among all the resident companies,” Hu Zheng said.
In his words, the investment in the project will total $500 million. The area of the subpark will reach 1 square kilometer. An estimated $150 million will be injected in the first stage of construction.
“Our project unites two integration associations, i.e. the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Union. It will also bridge the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone, Kaunas Free Economic Zone and the port of Klaipeda,” Hu Zheng said.
In his words, the trade and logistics subpark in the Great Stone park is China Merchants Group's biggest project abroad. “It will play an important role in the Silk Road Economic Belt and be a gateway to Europe for the countries of Central Asia,” Hu Zheng stressed.
