China expects Belarus to continue supporting regional stability

MINSK (BelTA) – Belarus will continue playing an active role in supporting stability in the region. The opinion was voiced by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Belarus Cui Qiming, who was present in the Oval Hall as a guest as the Belarus president addressed the nation and the parliament on 29 April, BelTA has learned.

The diplomat remarked that political stability and calmness are distinguishing features of Belarus. It is no accident that the country has already contributed to the resolution of the regional crisis by offering a venue for negotiations on the situation in Ukraine. Cui Qiming said he was confident that Belarus has been playing and will play a very active role in further development of stability and calmness in the region.

Speaking about Belarusian-Chinese relations, the diplomat said that they develop steadily across the board. The sides implement a lot of joint projects of economic and humanitarian nature. All-round cooperation between Belarus and China has a huge potential and great prospects, the diplomat was convinced. Mutually beneficial cooperation is also fostered by frequent visits, including at the top level. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko visited China in 2013. Preparations are in progress in Belarus for the forthcoming visit of China President Xi Jinping.
