Belarus and China enjoy friendly relations

MINSK (BelTA) – Belarus and China enjoy very friendly relations, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko told a press conference for the Russian media on 11 October, BelTA has learnt.

“We have very friendly relations: in diplomacy, politics. They support us in every area. We appreciate it much,” the head of state said.

Alexander Lukashenko took note of China’s latest achievements in the social and economic development and stressed he was always in favor of intensive all-round cooperation with China.

In his words, the parties have made great headway in bilateral relations. The two countries have set up a number of joint companies and have been developing investment cooperation. The head of state mentioned the projects to upgrade cement plants and to build a sulfate bleached pulp plant.

The Belarusian-Chinese Industrial Park will be the biggest joint project for the two states. International companies will work there to produce innovative products. “The park is expected to export up to $50 billion worth of products and services. It is a huge sum,” the Belarusian leader said.
