Gong Jianwei: Chinese service on Radio Belarus will boost bilateral ties

MINSK (BelTA) – The broadcast of Chinese-language programs on Radio Belarus will contribute to closer ties between Belarus and China, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Gong Jianwei said at the presentation of the Chinese service in the House of Friendship, BelTA has learnt.
The diplomat noted that the opening of the Chinese service was a logical continuation of the events held last year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomat relations between Belarus and China. The Ambassador praised the quality of the Chinese programs on Radio Belarus.
Director General of Radio Belarus Naum Galperovich introduced the audience to the team of professionals who work in the Chinese service. They told the attendees about their work and its role in the development of Belarus-China relations.
Deputy Chair of the Belarus-China Society, journalist of the department for covering the work of the President of Belarus at BelTA News Agency Alina Grishkevich wished the Chinese service team inspiration and new bright ideas and discoveries.
The presentation was arranged by the Main Directorate for International Broadcast of Radio Belarus and the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries.
Taking part in the presentation were Belarusian and Chinese musicians, famous Belarusian poets, including Editor-in-Chief of the Polymya Magazine Nikolai Metlitsky. Attending the event were also representatives of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, administration of the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Ties with Foreign Countries, rectors and students of Belarusian universities, members of the Belarus-China Society and cultural figures.
Radio Belarus started broadcasting programs in the Chinese language on 1 January. The radio launched a new program, Your Friend Belarus, which is dedicated to the relations between Belarus and the People’s Republic of China, joint projects in economy and other fields, personal contacts of Belarusians and Chinese. The program is made by Belarusian journalists and Chinese reporters working in Belarus.
Thus, since 1 January 2013 programs of Radio Belarus have been available in eight languages, namely Belarusian, Russian, English, German, Polish, French, Spanish and Chinese.
