Xi Jinping elected Chinese President

Minsk (BelTA) - Xi Jinping was elected PRC president at the first session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing early this morning, news agencies reported.
Xi Jinping has taken over from Hu Jintao, the retired head of state.
Also Xi Jinping has been elected Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the People's Republic of China. It is the highest military authority in China.
In November 2012, according to the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping, who was born in 1953, appointed General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee.
Li Yuanchao has been elected as new vice-president (or NPC vice-chairman).
Thus, the process of transferring power to China’s “fifth generation” of leadership is fully completed.
