Shanghai Technology Stock Exchange to help Belarus implement innovation projects

MINSK (BelTA) - The Shanghai Technology Stock Exchange is ready to facilitate the implementation of high-tech projects in Belarus, BelTA learnt from the press service of the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus.

The terms of cooperation with the exchange were discussed in a meeting between chairman of the committee Igor Voitov and a Chinese delegation. He asked the Chinese guests to help Belarus find partners for projects to redeploy Chinese high-tech productions to Belarus. “The meeting focused on such industries as the manufacture of PCs and TV sets, the development of space technology, implementation of innovations into the petrochemistry, exploration and mining of rare-earth elements, the development of solar cells, laser technology,” the press service said. The sides discussed prospects of cooperation in medicine and pharmaceuticals, biotechnology. Representatives of the Shanghai Technology Stock Exchange expressed readiness to assist in such projects.

The Chinese guests also met with the scientists of the Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus to discuss the development of a system to monitor atmospheric aerosols and gases as well as to get familiar with the national equipment for research.

Cooperation with the exchange started in June 2010 when a Belarusian sci-tech delegation took part in the Days of Science and Technology of Belarus at the World EXPO 2010 in Shanghai, the press service added.
