Belarus, China to implement 100 investment projects

MINSK, 28 June (BelTA) – Belarus and China will implement 100 investment projects at the amount of $15 billion. These projects were discussed at a session of the Belarus-China Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation in Minsk on 28 June, BelTA has learnt.
According to Co-Chairman of the Belarus part of the Commission Zenon Lomat, the Chinese preferential loans have been granted for the top-priority projects including the construction of an air-strip in the Minsk National Airport, the modernization of the Lukoml state district power station and the Berezinskaya state district power station. The modernization of a number of Belarusian production facilities are among the Belarusian-Chinese projects as well. The sides also intend to construct a plant to produce bleached pulp in Svetlogorsk and a plant to produce caustic soda. At present the sides are discussing these projects. The Chinese businessmen, participants of the session, will discuss the implementation of the projects at the level of ministries and concerns.
The Belarusian side intends to use Chinese investments in the projects that provide energy security of the country, Zenon Lomat said.
Co-Chairman of the Belarus-China Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation Gao Hucheng noted the dynamic development of the investment program at Minsk-based plants CHP-5 and CHP-2, at Belarusian cement works. “We have a good prospect to provide a benefit to the Belarusian people,” Gao Hucheng said.
