28 June 2010
MINSK, 28 June (BelTA) – Belarus proposes to set up Chinese industrial zones in the Belarusian free economic zones, Co-Chairman of the Belarus part of the Belarus-China Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation Zenon Lomat told reporters after the session of the commission in Minsk on 28 June, BelTA has learnt.
At the session, the Chinese side has proposed to set up Chinese industrial zones in Belarus. The Belarusian side will consider this proposal in details, Zenon Lomat said. “We have preferences for producers in the Belarusian free economic zones. We proposed the Chinese partners to study these preferences. They may receive benefits if they place their facilities in small and middle towns,” Zenon Lomat said. These proposals do not exclude the creation of the separate Chinese industrial zones in Belarus, the official stressed. The main thing is to intensify this process, he noted. Sometimes, implementing the projects the Chinese businessmen deal with the passivity of the Belarusian officials.
The sides have agreed that in September this year they will discuss the problems related to certification of the goods produced by the Belarusian-Chinese joint companies.
