Chinese car assembly facility may be set up in Belarus

MINSK, 28 June (BelTA) – A facility for assembling Chinese cars may be built in Belarus, the chairman of the State Control Committee, Zenon Lomat, told reporters following the session of the Belarusian-Chinese commission for trade and economic cooperation.
The two countries are planning to carry out a project on the joint manufacture of cars in Belarus. “We have got such an intention. There are not barriers. Once we have an investor we will get down to business,” Zenon Lomat said.
“I believe that with the help of Chinese partners we will set up a joint venture to assemble Chinese cars. This issues is on the agenda of bilateral cooperation, Zenon Lomat said.
