China to help Belarus develop high-speed train service

MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) – Representatives of the Belarusian and Chinese railways will discuss the development of high-speed train service in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarus Railways press service.

A delegation of the Ministry of Railways of the People's Republic of China will arrive in Belarus on 27 June.

The sides will consider the implementation of the memorandum on development of the high-speed train service in Belarus, develop the action plan for 2010-2012.

The memorandum on development of the high-speed train service in Belarus was signed in Beijing on 9 April 2010. The document envisages the development of transport infrastructure, introduction of up-to-date technologies for reconstruction of railroad tracks. It provides high-speed trains’ safety and personnel training. In line with the memorandum, a special overhaul and reconstruction park for high-speed trains will be constructed in Belarus.
