Back Belarus, China working on $5.7bn projects28 January 2010Belarus is working on projects that will be financed by the $5.7 billion Chinese loan, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank Piotr Prokopovich told a press conference on 27 January.
“Belarus and China have developed good relations in the finance area; we have signed an agreement to grant a $5.7billion loan to Belarus and now are working on the execution of this loan,” Piotr Prokopovich said. “As for the swap deal, we have significantly advanced here. It is almost agreed that in the near term Belarus and China will assign several banks to work with Chinese yuans and Belarusian rubles,” the Chairman of the Board of the National Bank said. “I think that the real work will be launched within the next few months. And this is only the first stage. The second one will start when China will lift restrictions on the circulation of the yuan abroad,” Piotr Prokopovich said. MINSK (BelTA) |
