OAO FanDOK receives first consignment of Chinese equipment for particleboard plant

OAO FanDOK has received the first consignment of the Chinese equipment to the amount of over $2 mln. to launch the production of thin particleboard slabs, said the Deputy Economic Director of the enterprise Tatyana Khinevich.

All the needed equipment to manufacture particleboard slabs to the total amount of $10 mln. will have been delivered to the enterprise by the end of October. Tatyana Khinevich noted that the purchase of the equipment was assisted by a $9.1 mln. Chinese CITIC bank loan, the rest was granted by Belarusbank. OAO FanDOK is planning to commission the plant to manufacture thin particleboard slabs (2-6 mm thick) with a capacity of 30 thousand cubic metres per year on June 2011.

Total amount of money the enterprise is going to invest in technical upgrading makes nearly Br38 bn. These funds are intended to complete a plywood plant upgrading which stared in 2009, commission the second stage of mini- TPPs (a power generation turbine installation) and prepare production of thin particleboard slabs at the plant. For the period of January-July, OAO FanDOK invested Br14.6 bn. in technical upgrading.

The updating will increase the plywood plant efficiency almost 1.5-fold to 50 thousand cubic metres and improve product quality. The enterprise experts count on plywood export growth. Own mini- TPP will allow to safe 13.3 thousand tonnes of standard fuel and power and supply itself with steam in full.

OAO FanDOK was established in 1994 on the basis of a production association Bobruiskdrev. The undertaking is one of the largest wood processors in Belarus. The company manufactures plywood, door sets, cabinet-type furniture sets, furniture boards, blockboards and other products. The enterprise is a part of the Bellesbumprom Concern.
