Belarus’ Minsk-Kristall supplies 1st 1,100-decaliter batch of vodka to China

Belarus’ state-run distillery Minsk-Kristall has shipped the first batch of vodka, amounting to 1,100 decaliters, to China.

“The talks were supervised by the Chinese Embassy in Belarus. The first batch was shipped in accordance with the schedule,” the official said.

The contract was inked in December 2007.

   

Last year, Minsk-Kristall supplied its products to Germany, Poland, the Baltic States, Russia, and Ukraine.

Exports rose over 50% year-on-year in 2007.

Minsk-Kristall makes 100 beverages, including vodka, cognac [a type of brandy], brandy, balm, liqueurs and wine.

Minsk-Kristall was established in 1893. The company accounts for about 40% of Belarus’ vodka and liquor output.

Its output rose 40% on the year in 2007. Vodka output reached 3.4 million decaliters, up 10% on the year. Grape and fruit wine production amounted to 200,000 decaliters and 700,000 decaliters, respectively, and cognac output doubled to 54,000 decaliters.
