The Belarusian Energy Ministry intends to sign the agreement on cooperation in peaceful uses of nuclear energy with the China Guangdong Nuclear Power Holding Corporation, Lilia Dulinets, a consultant of the nuclear technologies sector of the Belarusian Energy Ministry, told a press conference in Minsk on September 18.

Belarus is a reliable ally and friend of the People’s Republic of China, the President of the Republic of Belarus told on Monday in the course of his meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Wu Hongbin on the occasion dedicated to the end of the latter’s diplomatic mission, the President’s Press Service reports. 

Cooperation in the military and technical area will be one of the keystones in the relations between Belarus and China, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated at a meeting with Defence Minister of the People’s Republic of China Liang Guanglie on September 11

The trade between Belarus and China can reach $1.5 billion in 2008, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky said at a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China Hu Hongbin. The meeting was held in view of the expiry of the diplomat’s term in office.
