Trade and economic relations between Belarus and China are developing upwards, said Vadim Popov, the Chairman of House of Representatives of National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus at the meeting with the Chinese parliamentary delegation headed by Han Qide, the Vice Chairman of China's National People's Congress Standing Committee on the 26th of May.

Vadim Popov noted that trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $1.3 bln. in 2007. 
    

Trade and economic cooperation is the core of interaction among CIS member countries, said the President of the Republic of Belarus at the meeting with managers of the delegations participating in the meeting of the CIS member-countries leaders.

The Head of the Republic of Belarus underlined that “it is high time to activate collaboration in transport and transit fields. This year, which has been declared to be the year of transport in the CIS countries, we are to achieve certain goals.”
 

Chinese importers of fertilizers are interested in expanding of cooperation with the Belarusian Potash Company (BPC), told the reporters Guo Yangming, the vice president of the Chinese company CNAMPGC at the conference of the International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA) which was held on the 19-21st of May in Vienna.

He noted that the Chinese potash fertilizers industry market capacity, the main part of which is being imported, is 10 mln. tons per annum. Potash consumption continues to grow due to rapid development of the country’s agriculture.
