Belarus and China will launch investment projects totaling U.S. $700 million-$800 million this year; the Chinese side has prepared nearly all of them, Ambassador to China Anatoly Tozik reported to President Alexander Lukashenko on Friday.

Belarus’ television maker OAO Horizont will continue negotiating an expansion of China’s Midea Group investment in the joint-stock company, Horizont Deputy General Director Alexei Mozzhukhin told Prime-Tass.

The next round of talks will be held in March.

“Besides equity contribution we expect investments in floating assets,” Mozzhukhin said.

China is interested in increase of the share of rail transportation on the cargo transportation market into European countries through Belarus, was informed a correspondent of BelTA by the chief of freight operations and foreign-economic activity of Belarusian Railway Alexander Stankevich. Such position was expressed by representatives of government delegation of Chinese city Hohhot, which was headed by the mayor Tan Ai Czun at a meeting with leadership of the Belarusian railway in Minsk.

The extraordinary general meeting (EGM) of Belarus’ largest cement maker OAO Krasnoselskstroymaterialy, approved a U.S. $147 million contract with China’s CITIK, a representative in the administration of the company told Prime-Tass.

The contact envisages two investment projects: the construction of a dry-process cement-making line and a coal preparation unit to transfer cement production from gas to coal.

Open Joint-Stock Company «The Gomel  Engine  Plant» and the Chinese company «Nigbo David Power have established joint manufacture of small-litre explosi on engines with power from 5 to 7 Kwt.The engines will be produced at the belarussian company.The first part of  the production is going to be made  in February  as told  the  head  of  The Gomel  Engine Plant Nikolay Ermakov.
