The State Customs
Committee (SCC) of the Republic of Belarus and the Chief Customs
Authority of the People’s Republic of China signed memorandum of
understanding for cooperation while sharing bilateral trade
statistics data. According to the SCC’s press service, the document
was signed in Beijing by Leonid Dosov, the Deputy Head of the State
Customs Committee and Gong Zhen, the Deputy Head of the Chinese
Chief Customs Authority.
The Ministry of
Architecture is to sign supplements to the contract with the
Chinese company “CITIC”, as Vladimir Semashko, the first vice prime
Minister announced at the meeting of the Belarusian Cabinet Council
on 22nd of April.
He said participation of this very company in Belarus would
increase cement production capacities by 5.4 million tons per
annum. This would be ensured by means of construction the 5
thousand tons of clinker per day processing lines at each of the
three cement plant of the Republic.
ZAO Belarusian Potash
Company (BPC) raises potash fertilizer fees for China’s Sinochem
and CNAMPGC by U.S. $400 per tonne, OAO Uralkaly, which holds 50%
in BPC, said in a statement.
New process will be effective starting June or July.
BPC, headquartered in Minsk, is the exclusive exporter of potash
fertilizers produced by Belarus’ Belaruskaly, based in Soligorsk,
and Russia’s OAO Uralkaly, based in Berezniki.
Belarusbank will hold
a presentation for Chinese business and financial agencies in
Beijing on Friday, spokesman for the bank Sergei Vereschak told
Prime-Tass.
The list of invitees includes representatives of the Chinese
administration, including the Finance Ministry, People’s Bank of
China, Chinese bank supervision commission, SINOSURE export
insurance company and the largest credit and finance institutions
of China: Bank of China, the Export-Import Bank of China, China
Construction Bank, and China Development Bank.
Belarusbank started quoting and trading the Chinese yuan,
spokesman for the bank Sergei Vereschak told Prime-Tass.
“The move will expand the range of exchange operations provided
to individual clients of the bank. Exchange services will be
available in all region centers and Minsk branches soon,” Vereschak
said.
The National Bank of Belarus (NBB) last year included the
Chinese yuan in the list of reserve currencies.
Chinese Automotive
Industry is interested in creation light vehicles assembly in
Belarus. This was announced at the meeting of members of the
Belarusian Confederation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (BCIE)
with members of the delegation of Chinese automobile companies
headed by Chen Jianguo, the deputy inspector of the State Committee
on Development and Reform industry department on the 3rd of April
in Minsk.
The Head of Chinese delegation admitted, - “We are ready to
consider all the propositions of Belarusian party concerning trade
and investment cooperation”. Chinese manufacturers are seeking for
partners to organize light vehicles assembling on the territory of
the country.
Belarusian and Chinese
car makers discussed the possible ways of bilateral cooperation,
the issues of interaction in the field of automotive industry,
investment policy of the two countries, and conditions of
organization and operation of the branch. These were the basic
themes having been discussed at the meeting held at the Belarusian
Ministry of Industry. The meeting took place in the course of
the visit of the Chinese automotive industry delegation in Minsk
for the period of 29 March – 4 April, as BelTA reporter was
informed at the Ministry of Industry.
Belarus is to start
new round of talks on conclusion of the contract to deliver
fertilizers to China in April, told Oleg Petrov, the 1st deputy of
general director of Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) at the
press-conference on the 1st of April in Minsk.
He admitted that the volume and the price of delivery would be
determined in the course of negotiations, however, the price for
Chinese market was not supposed to be lower than the export price
of fertilizers established for India, which would amount to $625
per ton since May. “The price for Indian market will be considered
as the basic one in the course of negotiations with China”, - Oleg
Petrov said.
