Session of the Belarusian-Chinese Trade-economy committee is to take place in Minsk

The 9th session of the Belarusian-Chinese trade-economy committee is to be held in Minsk on October 26, 2007. The previous session was held in Beijing in January, 2007.

Yu Guangzhou, head of the Chinese party of the Belarusian-Chinese trade-economy committee, Vice-Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, is going to visit the Belarusian capital in frames of the forthcoming session. The Belarusian party of the committee is to be headed by Zenon Lomat, Head of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

The Belarusian-Chinese trade-economy committee was established in 1994 on the basis of the trade-economy partnership agreement between the governments of the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China.

Belarus and China purposefully increase the economic partnership, which is also displayed by figures. Mutual commercial exchange of the two countries reached $692 million by August, 2007. This sum includes $301.3 million of Belarusian export and $390.7 million of Chinese import. In comparison with the relevant period of 2006 the Belarusian-Chinese commercial exchange increased by 1.8 times, export – more than twice. China takes the 7th position among the major Belarusian foreign trade partners.
