Nowadays Chinologists are in great demand in Belarus, as Viktor Gaisenok, Deputy Minister of the Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, stated at the opening ceremony of Republican Sinology Institute named after Confucius at the Belarusian State University on January, 26 2007.
“We shall train not only specialists in the field of the Chinese language and culture, but specialists acquainted with the economy of the country, professionals in science of law and other spheres. Now Belarus is actively developing trade and economic cooperation with China, and lack of such specialists is significant everywhere, both in ministries and agencies and enterprises”, V. Gaisenok noted.
“Recently our delegation participated in the 8th meeting of the Belarusian-Chinese Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation held in China. The discussions with our Chinese partners devoted to the plans for economic, political and cultural relations cooperation within the following years revealed great interest of China in cooperation development at all levels. It proves the fact that the relations between our countries are of strategic nature”, Deputy Minister stated.
The opening of Republican Sinology Institute named after Confucius at the Belarusian State University serves as the best example of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation. V. Gaisenok noted that educational projects development is viewed as prospects for the future and concern for our friendship and mutual understanding. “ Studying the Chinese philosophy, language, culture will help us to understand better Chinese mentality and soul and as a result will contribute to mutual understanding between the two nations”, Deputy Minister stated.
