Belarusian and Chinese consulate consultations

Next round of Belarusian and Chinese consulate consultations was held on September 19, 2006 in Minsk. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Oleg Karnachev, Chief of the Passport and Visas Department of the Consulate Directorate of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Chinese - Deputy Director of the Consulate Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Zhang Ligo.
The issues of the development of the visa policy in terms of simplifying mutual trips of the citizens of Belarus and China topped the agenda of the Belarusian-Chinese consulate consultations in Minsk.
The sides exchanged information on the way bilateral agreements in the consulate sphere are being implemented, including the agreement between the Republic of Belarus and People's Republic of China on legal support in civil and criminal cases, Consular Convention between the Republic of Belarus and People's Republic of China and agreements stipulating simplified regime of trips for certain categories of citizens.
The officials focused on the issues of consulate protection of the rights and interests of the citizens of the two states, the development of efficient mechanisms of prevention of illegal migration and prompt information exchange in the range of consulate affairs.
Other consulate issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the consultations.
