“China is ready to deepen cooperation with Belarus and to jointly address global governance issues like unilateralism (support for unilateral actions) and protectionism in trade, and to defend the multilateral trading system,” Cui Qiming said

China’s Geely Corporation is eyeing the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone as a potential site for manufacturing automobile parts. A relevant agreement between the Great Stone Industrial Park and Geely is under preparation and will be signed at the international forum on regional cooperation and development within the framework of the Belt and Road initiative, due on July 1-3, 2019

The main theme is “Open park Great Stone - an example of global opportunities”. The event will bring together about 500 participants: government representatives, leaders of business associations, investment funds, banks and major companies from European and Asian countries

The document was inked by Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Tigran Sargsyan, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko, Kazakh First Deputy Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov, Kyrgyz Deputy Prime Minister Zhenish Razakov, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi

Previously, education certificates issued in China could only be used in Belarus after an official recognition procedure, which could last 2-3 months. With the new agreement in place, it will be less time-consuming to recruit Chinese specialists

Belkovets was reported to have meetings at the China Development Bank and the Export-Import Bank of China in May.  In his words, during those meetings Belarus and China discussed the terms of borrowing and other relevant arrangements

This requirement is in line with the development of the China-Belarus industrial park,” he noted. According to Hu Zheng, the Great Stone should keep to sustainable development which presupposes balance between scale, quality, and efficiency. “Increasing the scale will lead to blind, excessive investment, unreasonable activities and will upset the balance between supply and demand,” Hu Zheng said

“We have signed a framework agreement with the China Development Bank. Now we are trying to facilitate credit and investment cooperation, which includes a larger-scale form of credit cooperation in the form of non-tied credits of the China Development Bank,” BelTA reports citing Yermolovich as saying.

Since Jan 2019, the BPC and CNAMPGC have been testing deliveries in containers. The development of potash shipments in containers to China represents a promising avenue of business since it creates a higher level of service, the BPC said

“Today we are discussing the issuance of China Union Pay cards, and we will explore the possibility of doing a co-badging project with the participation of Belkart and China Union Pay. We will look into the possibility of an inter-system integration of two payment systems”, Kozhekina said

The official said: “We are now past the stage of building the infrastructure, enabling the conditions, working out some legislation. Now the success of the project hinges primarily on our residents. In the next few years it is unlikely we will be able to register as many new resident companies and we will focus primarily on implementing the already signed projects

“We are currently working on the certification to start delivering vegetables, fruit, flour, honey and dairy feed for cattle to the Chinese market. We are also in talks to add two companies to the list of meat packing plants authorized to export beef to China,” Aleksei Bogdanov said

The Council of Ministers approved the draft additional agreement to the concessional loan agreement on the investment project “Turnkey Construction of Engineering and Transport Infrastructure of the Starting Northern Zone of the China-Belarus Industrial Park”

The memorandum provides for the exchange of information about markets and exchange products in Belarus and China, joint activities, research projects, internships and search for other opportunities for cooperation

According to the head of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, over the past two decades Belarus and China have established relations of trust-based strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation thanks to an active and constructive position of the leaders of the two states

The agreement will apply to the transportation of cargoes and passengers between Belarus and China, to transit across Belarus and China, and transportation from any of the two countries to a third country and backwards by Belarusian or Chinese forwarding companies using vehicles registered in Belarus or China

Following the talks, Bellesexport and China's BRAVE LEAF (HONG KONG) Ltd. signed a protocol of intent to supply 120,000 cubic meters of lumber to China

The administration of the Great Stone Park will present information about the park and its doing business conditions. The major themes will include the tax exemption regime, the One Station service center, a bonded area, and a special customs regime

New opportunities in this area were discussed during a meeting between Vice Speaker of the Council of the Republic of Belarus' National Assembly, Chairwoman of the Belarusian Union of Women Marianna Shchetkina and Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairwoman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the All-China Women's Federation, in Minsk on 3 April

Thanks to the joint work of specialists from Belarus and China, the park has already become a magnet for foreign investments, technologies and human resources. The park already has 43 resident companies, including those from the United States, the European Union, Israel, Canada and Russia
